Spring & Summer 2022 lifestyle

On the LIG Photo team, we are always pushing ourselves to take new and creative approaches to our lifestyle shoots. While still taking COVID regulations into consideration, we wanted to stay local, and shoot outdoors as much as we could. We decided to shoot at the Mendon Twin Drive-In in Mendon, MA. This allowed us to shoot a variety of different model groups, and set ups, focusing on small vignettes. Allie Sepanek was our photographer, Cody Burgess & Jen Hall produced for us (under J& J Productions), and I styled, propped, and creative directed the day.

Fall & winter 2021 lifestyle

For the first time ever, Life is Good decided to have dedicated photoshoots for Fall and Winter/Holiday. For Fall, while still in the midst of quarantine and COVID regulations, we had to be strategic in how we executed a large campaign. We opted to shoot at a beautiful, spacious campground called Pine Acres, in Oakham, MA. The assets from this photoshoot made an appearance in our Fall mailer, as well as retail stores, in web and social assets, plus other direct mail pieces. I creative directed, produced, model casted, and styled this shoot, and it was photographed by our in-house Photographer, Allie Sepanek.

Next came our Holiday shoot, which was a particular undertaking, as there was a new collaboration to feature between Life is Good and Dr. Seuss. We worked to weave the narratives and themes of How The Grinch Stole Christmas throughout a portion of our photography. We ended up shooting across 3 days, in a variety of locations. Again, I handled the creative direction, model casting, and styling for this shoot. Cody Burgess with J&J Productions tackled our production, and everything was photographed by Allie Sepanek.

FALl & WINTER 2020 LIFESTYLE

Deep in the middle of the pandemic, we had to really reevaluate how we could tackle lifestyle photography. Testing, masking, social distancing - none of that was clearly enough. We decided to really narrow down our shoots to the bare essentials. This meant fewer models, but also less people on set. This resulted in propping, styling, steaming, teching, photographing, lighting, and producing everything with a team of only 4 people. We opted to shoot outdoors as much as we could, and thus we landed on shooting at Mount Wachusett - a local skiing destination. For this shoot I handled location scouting, styling, propping, model casting, and creative direction. These assets made their way into retail stores, were used on the LIG website and in emails, plus many were featured in our Holiday Mailer.

summer & Pre-fall 2020 LIFESTYLE

Right before COVID made itself know to us all, we were able to escape to California for a lifestyle shoot covering Spring, Summer, and Pre-Fall 2020 items. We shot over 2 1/2 days, in a variety of locations throughout Los Angeles, touching on several natural environments. Bryan Sheffield was our photographer, and I handled our location scouting, model selection, styling and art direction.

Identifying the need for Life is Good to reach a younger, more diverse demographic, I reached out to an all girl skateboarding group called GrlSwirl in Los Angeles. In tandem with the GrlSwirl ladies, we photographed in Venice Beach, and highlighted some of our Summer & Pre-Fall 2020 hero products.

Spring 2020 lifestyle

The need to make quicker content on a smaller scale inspired us to take a new approach to some of our photography - and thus was born the “mini shoot”. This was the first mini shoot we tested as a team, which proved to be a successful way for us to continue creating fresh content without always needing to utilize the resources of a multi-day photo shoot. We worked with J&J Productions in Concord and Weston, MA over the course of a single day. These assets have been used for direct mail, in retail stores, and web and social content. I handled all location scouting, model casting, prop and clothes styling, and art direction.

Fall & WINTER 2019 lifestyle

This lifestyle shoot happened in July in Woodstock, NY - which presented some interesting weather challenges (like faking snow). These assets lived in a variety of retail stores, web assets, social, and as a Holiday mailer sent to a targeted segment of our customer base. All model casting, location scouting, and creative direction by me, and photographed by our in-house photographer, Allison Sepanek. Produced with J&J Productions.

Spring& Summer 2019 lifestyle

This was the first large scale shoot I tackled with Life is Good, which we all felt was incredibly successful in the breadth of content we were able to generate. In addition to a few pieces of direct mail, these assets lived in a variety of retail stores, and web and social ads and content. Location scouting, model casting, styling, and art direction by me - photographed in Los Angeles with Bryan Sheffield, and produced with Wildland Productions.
